I am a little late on posting about my 100 days of healthy challenge (it officially ended on August 8th), but I wanted to let you all know how it went. First off I cheated, I cheated more than once, but am okay with that! The experience was actually amazing and has truly changed my outlook on drinking.
The first few weeks were definitely tough, especially after going from drinking a least a glass of wine a day to nothing. However, after about two weeks it was a breeze! One thing that I did learn about myself is that to wake up and feel amazing every day of the week is totally worth it. On the days that I cheated and did indulge, it took days to recover and to feel 100 percent again. I also noticed that it affected my performance at crossfit, as that becomes a larger part of my life, I was not happy with that either. I will say though, having a glass of wine or a drink here and there is fine, but weekends often turn into more than one drink, followed by lots of junk food and that is what makes you feel like crap!
I recommend the 100 days of healthy challenge to everyone. You might be surprised at the result! I have been feeling better than ever and I have become more focused on my fitness and on my heath in general. Am I going to drink and eat junk food again, of course!! But my outlook on alcohol has truly changed. One glass of wine here or there is more than enough for me these days and I love that. I am more committed than ever to being fit and being healthy.
