When you first find out you are pregnant there is almost a relief that you have a full 9 months to really come to terms with the fact that you will be becoming a mom or having a baby (again). Around month 7 I was feeling pretty confident about what was coming, and I started the nesting process. Now all the little details are done, with about two weeks to spare (at least 2 weeks…).
You then suddenly reach the phase where you think “why on earth does it take so many months to grow a baby!!” I am certainly there, in what I call the final countdown stage and I have been here since about 34 weeks (currently 38 weeks). I am into the full on discomfort, trouble sleeping, and random back/hip pain stage. I am also to the point where I just really want to meet this little person that has been so content in my belly all these months!
I hear this is the longest part of pregnancy and it’s only 2-4 weeks long. Everyone is guessing when I will ‘pop’ and some are often shocked that I still show up to work everyday.
The fact is the final countdown is really on and I can’t wait to meet you baby D!!!
