From my family to yours.
The count down to Christmas is seriously on! Our elf on the shelf Ludwig has been getting into plenty of trouble the past couple of weeks. Lets check out how he has been watching our family this year.
And for the record, I think he is more on the naughty list than us. We will see you next year Ludwig!
Let the festivities begin! We are getting into the Christmas spirit over here, I even convinced D to string some lights up outside! New this year, we have decided to start the elf on the shelf tradition. So far we have been having fun getting Ludwig (as we lovingly call him) into trouble each night. I will do a post about his antics closer to Christmas.
For now, throw on some Christmas tunes, get your ALMOND Baileys and coffee ready and enjoy the Christmas spirit!
Breakfast. Avocado. ‘Cheese’.
Interested yet? Making a fancy breakfast that was vegan did not come to me right away. After being vegetarian for so long, moving away from eggs at breakfast was a tough transition, I wasn’t totally sure what to make myself other than my usual toast with peanut butter and banana. But I have finally found it and I am obsessed.
A.C.T. – Avocado, ‘Cheese’ + Tomato Sandwich
Place ‘cheese’ slice on one piece of bread (if you have a toaster oven – so it melts), thinly slice tomato. Once bread is toasted smash half an avocado into the non-melted cheese slice of bread, layer tomato on top, add salt and pepper to taste, complete sandwich with cheesy slice of toast, and enjoy!
This breakfast is filling, delicious and something a little more fancy than your usual toast!
This past weekend we celebrated D’s 30th birthday. We decided to host a little get together at our place. For the past few weeks D and I have been working long nights to get our basement ready. We still have some finishes to do but we made it work out quite well for the party!
D hosted a very loud jam session in the new jam room and we all placed our bets for the UFC fight. Despite using patio furniture and dining room chairs for seating, the party was a success and it was an over all great night!
D’s Birthday Surprise.
There has been a lack of posts lately, this is mostly due to the fact that we have been enjoying this gorgeous Fall way too much! We spent Thanksgiving at the cottage and we were back up the following weekend for the Bala Cranberry Featival. We had back to back great weekends and I only wish I got more photos of the amazing fall trees!
Here are a few pictures from our Fall adventures!
Okay so, this is a Bennett heavy posting week, but I can’t help it! Turning one is a big deal!! This past weekend we had a little family party for Bennett to spoil him and fill him full of cupcakes.
It was a fantastic afternoon of family fun. I went with a lunch time BBQ to help work with Bennett’s schedule. He was so thrilled to wake up from his morning nap to several people ready to fawn over him.
I decided to keep things simple, because really this party was for me not him (knowing that he won’t remember his first birthday). So I didn’t go wild with decor or games. I did come up with an easy way to entertain kids under 5 though. If you have a kiddy pool, go to Toys R Us and purchase some plastic balls and boom, homemade ball pit!
It was a great afternoon and I don’t think I will ever forget B inhaling that cupcake as if it was his last meal. Verdict, he likes his sweets just like mumma!
Here are a few pictures from the day! Enjoy.
Well it’s officially here. Today Bennett turns 1! I am in shock and awe that 365 days ago I was in Newmarket experiencing labour for the first time and welcoming a 7 pound 3 ounce bundle of joy into my life. In some ways it feels like yesterday that he was born, in others I can barely remember him being so little.
B has become such a little man. He is outgoing, full of laughter, and he is always on the go. He may look just like his mother, but personality wise he is 100% D aka 100% trouble! ;)
Today also marks the final day of my monthly stats project. I am so happy I stuck to it and now I have an amazing collection of photos and memories for B’s first year of life. Check out my not so little man’s stats for month 12 below and a collection of his first year stats.
A Year in the life of B
Hello again everyone!
Lots of exciting things have been happing over here and this past week our move has been consuming my life. D and I recently purchased our first home and we are so excited! Not only are we first time home buyers, but we decided to move our little family west of Toronto to Guelph. This means big changes, mostly for me as I resigned from my job and I am on the hunt for new opportunities closer to home.
It has been a crazy few months of culling through my house and getting rid of garbage, donating items and becoming a kijiji selling master. Our big move was last Tuesday and my mum and I spent the rest of the week organizing boxes, scrubbing floors and cleaning the house top to bottom. By Friday we felt like we were finally able to live in our house. Now we are just waiting on a few outstanding furniture items and we are done!
Here are a few pictures of our move. Once we are more set up I will do a post of our new house and my..ahem AMAZING decorating job.
Happy 2nd wedding anniversary to my love. I can’t believe these two years have blown by, not to mention our family has grown by one. Two years ago today I married the love of my life and each day since our love has grown. I am so excited to see what this year brings as we start a new adventure in our new home. D I love you with all of my heart.
