As you all know, my main exercise of choice is Crossfit, however it is not something I can do all day when I am home full time with a baby. D is helping me reach my goals by meeting me at the gym after work to grab the baby and I am able to get to the gym about 3-4 times a week which is great, but I also can’t sit around all day, especially on days that I don’t make it to the gym. So here is what I have been doing at home that can be done with both baby and dog.
- 30 – 40 minute walk with dog and baby in tow.
- 60 air squats
- 50 walking lunges
- 20 side lunges
- 300m sprints x2
- 60 sit-ups
- 20 leg raises
- 40 bicycle crunches
I am super lucky to have public tennis courts in my neighbourhood. Since it is the winter, no one is using it and it makes for a great gated spot to let Lucy off leash to chase her ball and for me to get some body weight movements in! Once I am home I then do a short ab circuit and I’m done!
I have been trying to do this everyday. Some days we only do the walk, but it is great for Lucy to get a nice run in (I try to discourage running while on leash) or I would love to do morning jogs with her too. For now, this is a great way to get us moving and to keep my pup happy!
How do you get your workouts while juggling baby and puppy?
All you need for this morning workout is a trusty ab mat!
Until next time daydreamers.
